Profile of Kennedy Herschberger: Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Making an Impact

Grand Canyon University graduate Kennedy Herschberger has landed her dream job at MedPro, the country’s oldest and largest medical malpractice insurance group, in her hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Herschberger, who earned a bachelor’s degree in finance, credits her success to what she calls “God things” that have guided her path.

Herschberger’s journey to MedPro was serendipitous, as she unknowingly took her high school prom photos in front of the white MedPro building and later worked at the front desk in the Colangelo College of Business when a MedPro executive visited the campus. The executive’s son recognized her from her hometown and inquired about her younger brother, leading to an internship opportunity at the company.

Throughout her time at GCU, Herschberger distinguished herself as a leader, serving as the president of the Women in Business club, which boasts over 730 members and is considered the largest club on campus. She also excelled academically and completed multiple internships, showcasing her dedication and work ethic.

Provost Dr. Randy Gibb praised Herschberger for her professionalism and personable nature, highlighting her commitment to service and academic excellence. Herschberger’s involvement in the Women in Business club was instrumental in her personal growth and development as a leader, with support from mentors and fellow club founders.

Herschberger’s decision to pursue a career in finance with a minor in business analytics stemmed from her desire to interact with people and make a positive impact. Her faith and leadership skills were honed through various experiences, including serving as a group leader at Pathway Community Church and mentoring freshmen at GCU.

As Herschberger embarks on her new role at MedPro, she reflects on her time at GCU with gratitude and looks forward to her siblings following in her footsteps at the university. Her story serves as an inspiration to aspiring professionals, showcasing the power of faith, determination, and community support in achieving one’s goals.
