Outrage as Two-Year-Old Boy Urinates in Restaurant Glass in China, Mother Defends Act

The shocking incident at a restaurant in Hangzhou, China, where a two-year-old boy urinated into a glass meant for customers has sparked outrage and disbelief. The mother of the child defended her son’s actions, saying, “just let him pee,” causing further controversy.

The incident, which took place at Fuyuanju Restaurant on March 13, was witnessed by a customer named Tang, who reported it to news outlet The Cover. According to Tang, the boy suddenly stood up from his child’s chair, removed his trousers, and urinated into a reusable glass. Despite suggestions from an elderly relative to use a bin for the boy to pee in, the mother insisted on him urinating directly into the glass.

What added to the shock was the lack of intervention from restaurant staff, who allowed the glass, still containing urine, to remain on the table, causing a foul smell for nearby diners. Tang and her friends eventually had to ask a staff member to remove it.

The boy’s mother later issued an apology but defended her actions, saying that her son could not hold it any longer. Tang confronted the restaurant’s management, requesting a discount or complimentary fruit as an apology, but was refused and accused of causing trouble. After a heated exchange, Tang paid her full bill and left.

Following the incident, local market regulators launched an investigation, confirming that the restaurant staff had disposed of the glass. The restaurant’s owner eventually apologized to Tang, refunded her meal, and offered compensation, which she declined.

The controversy has since gone viral on Chinese social media, with many comparing it to a recent scandal at a popular hotpot chain where teenagers filmed themselves urinating into a hotpot soup. The incident has raised questions about hygiene and customer service standards in restaurants, sparking a debate on social media.
