MwareTV Revolutionizes Streaming with Lightning 3.0 Integration at MWC 2025 without the Need for Code

Date:

MwareTV, a prominent cloud-based multi-tenant platform provider, has recently integrated Lightning 3.0 into its innovative no-code App Builder. This integration marks a significant milestone for users of the MwareTV platform, as it enables them to swiftly create and distribute high-performance user interfaces across various devices without the need for specialized staff or coding expertise. The unveiling of the Lightning integration will take place at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 3rd to 6th March 2025.

Lightning, an open-source app development framework initially developed by Metrological, a Comcast company, was designed specifically for the television industry. MwareTV has collaborated closely with the core Lightning development team to incorporate the latest insights, recommendations, and strategies into their platform.

With Lightning 3.0, users can create high-performance apps for SmartTVs like Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Vidaa, Titan OS, and WhaleTV, as well as gaming consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox, and Linux Set-top boxes. This framework, based on Javascript and utilizing WebGL, streamlines the creation of video streaming apps by reducing the need for HTML, DOM, and CSS typically required in web app development. This simplifies the process of porting the same user experience across multiple operating systems and customizing settings per device to optimize performance, even on devices with limited processing power.

Sander Kerstens, CEO of MwareTV, emphasized the benefits of Lightning 3.0, stating, “What Lightning 3.0 gives us is excellent performance across all SmartTVs, games consoles, Linux Set-top boxes, and other browser-based devices. Integrated into our own App Builder software, it means that users can create rich user experiences – including animations and page turns, and control of remote actions – purely through drag and drop without the need to write a single line of code, and confident that the Lightning framework will port the high-performance look and feel to all devices.”

The MwareTV platform, a fully cloud-hosted SaaS offering, allows users to quickly set up new services without capital investment. Thanks to Lightning and App Builder, users can deliver a premium user experience on a wide range of devices, including Android, AndroidTV, iOS, TVOS, FireTV, Roku, WebOS, Tizen, Vidaa, Titan OS, Whale TV, WebTV, KaiOS, PlayStation, Xbox, and more.

The modular software provided by MwareTV encompasses everything necessary for content management, scheduling, advertising planning, subscriptions and billing, marketing, and other revenue streams. Additionally, MwareTV offers fully curated, multi-channel content resources on a single contract, simplifying the process for telcos and other operators without experience in negotiating media deals.

Sander Kerstens further highlighted the significance of streaming as a revenue stream for operators, stating, “Streaming is a potentially valuable revenue stream for telcos and other service operators, but it is also a competitive market. Operators need to get to market quickly, with an offering that is appealing to today’s consumers and very clearly branded, and which operates with the minimum of technical backup. App Builder plays a key role in creating brand identity and user engagement, and by including Lightning we eliminate unexpected issues across devices at roll-out.”

In conclusion, the integration of Lightning 3.0 into MwareTV’s platform represents a significant advancement in the realm of app development for SmartTVs, gaming consoles, and web devices. This collaboration between MwareTV and Lightning promises to revolutionize the creation of high-performance streaming apps, offering users a seamless and efficient development experience without the need for coding expertise.
