Asia-Pacific Sourcing in Cologne recently concluded with a significant increase in exhibitor growth, showcasing the latest innovations in Asian tools and products from the home, garden, and leisure sector. The event, which took place on 32,000 square meters of exhibition space, featured over 800 companies from 16 countries. Despite challenges such as warning strikes in local and air transport, the trade fair attracted more than 5,500 trade visitors from 75 countries, marking a 22% increase in visitor numbers compared to the previous event. This year, the trade fair was held in Halls 7 and 8 of the Cologne exhibition center, providing a larger and more dynamic platform for industry professionals.
Oliver Frese, Managing Director and COO of Koelnmesse, emphasized the significance of Asia-Pacific Sourcing as a key sourcing platform outside Asia. He highlighted the positive feedback received from participants, affirming the trade fair’s reputation for high-quality offerings and its importance in connecting Asian growth markets with the growing demand from Europe and overseas. The event successfully brought together industry players in a focused and efficient manner, facilitating valuable business opportunities and partnerships.
The trade fair showcased a diverse range of new products and trends in the hardware sector, including tools, fastening technology, industrial supplies, factory equipment, locks, fittings, DIY and construction supplies, and garden products. A notable feature of the event was the “Best of China” presentation platform, where 54 Chinese companies presented their latest developments in various categories such as hand and power tools, gardening equipment, household goods, lighting, and building and furniture fittings. This platform aimed to highlight the quality of Chinese suppliers and assist buyers in selecting top-notch products, including innovative and eco-friendly solutions.
In addition to the main event, Asia-Pacific Sourcing benefited from synergies with the International Trade Fair for Promotional Products and Imports (IAW), which ran concurrently in Halls 6 and 9. The parallel organization of these two trade fairs created positive synergy effects, enhancing the overall experience for both exhibitors and trade visitors. The expanded range of promotional goods, trend items, and seasonal articles at IAW complemented the offerings at Asia-Pacific Sourcing, attracting a broader audience and fostering collaboration between industry sectors.
Looking ahead, the next edition of Asia-Pacific Sourcing is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11 March 2027, promising to introduce additional segments and further enhance the trade fair experience. With its continued success in bringing together industry leaders, showcasing cutting-edge products, and facilitating valuable connections, Asia-Pacific Sourcing remains a key event for professionals in the home, garden, and leisure sectors.
