BTS Reunites: The Bangtan Boys Are Back and Ready to Take the World by Storm

July 1, 2025 — After more than two years apart due to mandatory military enlistment, the Bangtan Boys, better known as BTS, have officially reunited, sending waves of excitement through their dedicated fanbase, ARMY. In a heartfelt livestream, the seven members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—shared the thrilling news that they will release a new album in spring 2026, followed by a highly anticipated world tour.

The announcement came as a breath of fresh air for fans who have been eagerly awaiting the group’s return since their last studio album, Be, dropped in 2020, featuring chart-topping hits like “Dynamite” and “Life Goes On.” The members confirmed their plans via Weverse, stating, “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”

The Long Road Back

The journey back to this moment has been anything but easy. Jin, the eldest member, began his military service in December 2022, followed by the rest of the group, each completing their 18-month terms. Despite the separation, the members remained creatively active, exploring solo projects that deepened their artistry. RM’s introspective album Indigo and Jung Kook’s chart-smashing debut Golden showcased their individual growth during this hiatus.

“The experience of being completely free and honest will have a good influence on our team,” RM reflected during a Q&A for his documentary, Right Place, Wrong People.

Fans Overjoyed

The reunion has sparked an outpouring of joy from fans worldwide. Social media platforms lit up with emotional reactions, as ARMY expressed their excitement and relief. One fan tweeted, “how I sleep knowing BTS is reuniting in 24 hours,” capturing the collective anticipation felt by millions.

In the lead-up to their reunion, each member shared personal reflections. RM expressed nostalgia in a June 2024 Weverse letter, while j-hope framed their comeback as a blend of solo evolution and group identity, stating, “This is us. This is BTS.” Jimin admitted to feeling nervous about performing again but remained committed to delivering unforgettable experiences for fans.

Jin, appearing on The Tonight Show in May 2025, called his bandmates “lifesavers,” vowing to honor and support them post-service.

Looking Ahead

While details about the new album and world tour remain under wraps, the energy surrounding BTS’s return is palpable. j-hope hinted in April that the group would “quickly get together and talk about what BTS can do in the future,” adding, “I think it’s going to be a massive energy.”

As the Bangtan Boys prepare to embark on this new chapter, fans can expect nothing less than a spectacular return that promises to be both a celebration of their past and a bold step into the future. The world is ready, and so is BTS.
